Five doctors in their 40s who have been closest friends since they started medical school in 1999 are portrayed in the television series. Assistant professor of general surgery with a focus on liver transplants, Lee Ik-jun (Jo Jung-suk), after divorcing his absent wife, raises his small boy as a single parent. His outgoing personality makes him approachable and popular with both patients and other medical professionals. Ahn Jeong-won (Yoo Yeon-seok), an assistant professor of pediatric surgery, is unapologetically skilled at everything he sets his mind to. He is also kind and compassionate, which endears him to his patients. He is a fervent Catholic and has been considering becoming a priest in secret since it hurts him to see his patients suffer.
Associate professor of cardiothoracic surgery Kim Jun-wan (Jung Kyung-ho) has a cool, businesslike demeanor. He conceals a gentle, loving nature, though, and it only sometimes manifests itself among his friends and some of his patients. Obstetrics and gynecology assistant professor Yang Seok-hyeong (Kim Dae-myung) is a reclusive individual. Nokdu Flower or also known as a drama that has the title Mung Bean Flour is a drama that aired on SBS in 2019. This drama is about a dispute between two half-brothers during the Donghak Peasants’ Revolution which lasted from 1894 to 1895 in 1895 in the Joseon era. Baek Yi-kang (played by Jo Jung-suk) is the first son of an elite family. His father was rich and he was famous as a local government official. But, Yi-kang’s mother is from the lowest class. Because his mother’s social class is low, people also look down on Baek Yi-kang.
The chairman of a sizable merchant group’s only daughter is Song Ja-in (played by Han Ye-ri). Ja-in is the proprietor of “Jeonjoo Yeokak”, a business that both sells goods and operates an inn. She is courageous, maintains composure under stress, and exudes charisma. Song Ja-in aspires to excel as a trader in Joseon. Although he is Yi-kang’s younger half-brother, Baek Yi-hyun (played by Yoon Si Yoon) is intelligent, appealing, and courteous.
Baek Yi-hyun was not born outside of marriage, in contrast to Yi-kang. Yi-hyun is well-off and shows his stepbrother respect. There, she meets Seo Min Jae (Ryu Jun Yeol) and Woo Sun Young (Jeon Hye Jin). Shi Yeon initially has a lot of doubts about Seo Min Jae’s investigative abilities, but he quickly shows that he is a completely reliable investigator.
For a change, Jo Jung Suk portrays a wild bad guy. He is completely evil and insane, but the program doesn’t truly give you a full account of how he came to be that way. Because of his activities, Jung Jae Chul’s persona doesn’t convince you that he is an intelligent man, which makes it difficult for you to believe that he might become a wealthy businessman.
