Payne’s Southdown Bee Farms Ltd
Paynes was founded in 1922 by Fred Payne with around 300 hives. Over the past 90 years, Paynes has continued in its family traditions but has grown to include much more of the Apiculture available, being deeply involved in honey production, equipment sales, and breeders of bees and Queens.
Today, Paynes are based across Sussex, Hampshire, and Kent and have a diverse and colorful array of flora available for the bees to forage, to ensure the bees have good sources of nectar and pollen. Paynes has harvested pure honey directly from the hives, using traditional beekeeping methods that minimize damage to the honey to maintain the goodness and sweetness of nature. London Honey Producers was started in 1999, the business is mainly production at British pure honey, with urban beekeeping almost unheard of at the time, this simple act captured the zeitgeist an appetite for pure natural food to be brought back into the heart of the city, for food to come straight from where it is made without interference and to guarantee the quality of honey.
