Dubrovnik – The Pearl Of The Mediterranean
Dubrovnik is without a doubt the best place to visit in Croatia. There’s a reason why cruise ships “occupy” the sea around it and the city is overrun with tourists. Particularly during the summer months. Who wouldn’t want to walk along the Old City’s mesmerizing centuries-old walls? Fortunately, Toplist can assist you with that as well, allowing you to easily explore the city by booking tours.
Fans of HBO’s Game of Thrones may be aware that it was filmed here. Dubrovnik’s mesmerizing beauty made it an ideal candidate to play Westeros’ fictional capital, King’s Landing. The city is literally brimming with beautiful historic sites. Especially in the Old Town, which is a tourist attraction in and of itself. Dubrovnik is also surrounded by natural beauty.
Every day of your holiday, you could explore something new in Dubrovnik or around it. And high on that list would be Lokrum island. It’s only ten minutes away and it has incredible vegetation and sightseeing monuments. But not to worry, if you’re looking for a party, Dubrovnik has good nightlife too!

The Most Beautiful City In The World – Split
Split is unlike any other city in the world. Everyone who has lived there or still lives there will agree. It is the world’s most beautiful city. Split has a unique flavor to it. You could call it the X factor. It also has the world’s most wonderful and crazy football (soccer) fans. Torcida is their name, and Hajduk is their club. If you visit Split, you will see graffiti about one of those two, Torcida or Hajduk, on every other wall. This club is the lifeblood of the city and the region as a whole.
Diocletian, the Roman emperor, spent his summers in Split. His palace is in excellent condition and is likely the city’s main attraction. Split was also the location for filming some episodes of the popular fantasy series Game of Thrones due to its many architectural monuments.
Above all, Split is a relaxed city. The most important word you will learn is “pomalo.” “Take it easy,” would be a rough translation. That should be your motto while you’re here. Take your time, take in the scenery, and party hard because Split has a thriving nightlife scene. Also, while you’re there, try as many of the local dishes as possible. The cuisine is fantastic here.

The Neretva Valley
From Bosnia and Herzegovina to Croatia, the Neretva Valley flows. There are three cities (Metkovi, Opuzen, and Ploe) and a few municipalities (Slivno, Kula Norinska, Zaablje, and Pojezerje) on the Croatian side. They are all rich in natural beauty and delicious food. Aside from that, this location offers an incredible blend of river and Adriatic sea life. It’s a unique experience that can only be had here.
Aside from all of that, the valley is steeped in history. As a result, the ancient city of Narona can be found here. An in situ museum was built in its place, centered on the archeological findings. All of the finds, including 17 statues, are contained and preserved in this manner. Neretva also offers amateur sports manifestation named “Maraton lađa” which is a race of traditional boats from Neretva where all the competing teams row on a 22.5-kilometer track. (Almost 14 miles).
In addition to “Maraton lađa”, the street art festival “Zen Opuzen” is warly welcomed by everyone. Many also come to the kite surfing and party haven – locals call the beach on the mouth of the Neretva “ušće”.
Blace, situated in the Slivno municipality, is a great place to stay while you’re visiting Neretva. With natural beauties and many old churches and historical landmarks. Slivno also has plenty to offer.
Let’s stay at Apartments Galeb when you do come to Blace. The three-star, two-bedroom apartments are cozy and fully equipped. All apartments here oversee a gorgeous view of the Adriatic.

The Architecture Of Zagreb
Croatia’s capital, Zagreb, is a city not to be missed. It’s also the country’s largest city, so you can find anything there. From parks to pubs and museums, there’s something for everyone. It’s also a place that should be explored on foot.
The majority of the city’s older structures are works of art in and of themselves. As a result, the best way to appreciate its beauty is to walk through its streets. The great thing about Zagreb is that there are so many free things to do!
Tourist can pay a visit to the beautiful Maksimir Park or the Zagreb Cathedral, for example. A lot of the places are also pet friendly! Don’t worry if you brought your four-legged companion(s).You could, for example, walk along the Strossmayer promenade and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Zagreb. Many people consider this to be a romantic place to walk. So perhaps you could bring along a two-legged special friend as well.
There is one special place in Zagreb that is… unique… to say the least. The Mirogoj Cemetery is where you’ll find it. Now, pay attention to what I’m saying. It may be dark or even morbid for some, but it’s worth it.
This location is both an open art gallery and a lovely park. Many sculptures by Croatia’s most famous sculptors can be found there. Aside from that, you might be interested in visiting the graves of some of Croatia’s poets, artists, politicians, or nobility, as many of them are buried there.

The Peaceful Paradise Of Lika
Lika is a region but a city. Furthermore, it is one of Croatia’s most sparsely populated regions. As a result, this is a popular destination for those seeking peace and quiet. That is not to say that there isn’t anything to do or see. However, its main characteristics are peace and natural beauty, which you should be aware of when planning a trip.
Having said that, the largest city in Lika – Gospi – offers a wide range of activities. Cave exploration is a big thing in Lika because there are so many caves. You could also visit one of the three national parks in the area. Plitvice Lakes, North Velebit, or Paklenica are all worth visiting. Or how about a trip to the Velebit Natural Park? You could also go fishing or hunting if that is something you enjoy. Cycling and sport climbing, paragliding, and many other outdoor activities are available.
In Lika, you’ll also find the Nikola Tesla Memorial Center, which honors the great scientist and inventor. You might wonder why on Earth something like that exists in Lika. The solution is straightforward. Nikola Tesla was born in Smiljan, the village where the memorial center is located.
- Location: the Velebit mountain from the southwest and the Plješevica mountain from the northeast.

Lošinj Archipelago
If you’re in Croatia, you must see at least one of the country’s many islands! Croatia has a stunning coastline dotted with islands rich in history, gastronomy, and natural beauty, all of which are just waiting to be discovered. So it’s difficult to choose just one. There could be a top ten list devoted solely to islands.
The island of Cres used to be connected to this one. However, a man-made canal now separates them. The Museum of Apoxyomenos is located in Loinj, and it is a very unusual museum. Its one-of-a-kindness stems from the fact that it is solely dedicated to one exhibit. But in the end, I decided to put this gem on the market. The island of Loinj.

Ancient City Of Pula
The tourist destination of Istria is extremely popular. There are several explanations for this. Its natural beauty, history, sea, and proximity to Central Europe are all reasons to visit. Split and Dubrovnik are much further away. The ancient city of Pula is, of course, at the heart of this region. Why do I use the term “ancient”? For starters, Pula is home to a massive Roman amphitheater! And, believe it or not, they still use it in the same way they did in the past. They put on gladiator battles!
Those battles, of course, have a much happier outcome than in Roman times. However, the “Spectacvli Antiqvi” manifestation is still very popular and shows a glimpse of the Roman Empire. This amphitheater (Pula Arena) also serves as a venue for a variety of other performances and events. There is also a prestigious Croatian film festival held there. It even hosted a hockey game on one occasion!
Pula is close to the Brijuni Islands, a well-known national park. Marshall Tito, the former leader of Yugoslavia, built a zoo on the islands. It was, in some ways, his summer home, but it is now a tourist attraction and a venue for numerous gatherings and conferences. But, in addition to being a great place to visit in the summer, Pula and the surrounding area are also lovely in the winter.

Royal Holidays In Opatija
Since the year 1844, tourism in Opatija is officially flourish. In that year, Iginio Scarpa construted the first-holiday house and later hosted people such as Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria-Hungary, Empress Maria Anna, and the Croatian “Ban” Josip Jelačić. Opatija is opted for some reasons, so paying a visit to this beautiful city is worth considering. are you curious about these stories and visits? You can have the answer for everything at the Croatian Museum of Tourism that’s located here.
Asides from that, Opatija has a Hollywood-inspired landmark, “Croatian Walk Of Fame”. Individuals that left a mark in sports, science, or culture/art are rigorously chosen to be named on “Croatian Walk Of Fame”. Next, “American gardens”, one of many wonders in Opatija,, is an absolutely amazing place you have to visit. Being said that it carries a love story between a Hungarian merchant and an Austrian noblewoman. It’s also nominted as one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in this part of Europe.

Osijek – Heart Of Slavonia
Croatia’s coast is home to nearly all of the country’s popular tourist destinations. That is why a large number of tourists visit Dalmatia or Istria. Croatia’s interior, however, is equally stunning! The Slavonia region, to be precise. But don’t get it mixed up with Slovenia or Slovakia! For non-Europeans, it can be a little perplexing. The reason for this is that all three names are likely derived from the same root word: Slaven. Slovenia, Slovakia, and Slavonia are all known as “the land of the Slavs.”
Because Osijek is located on the Drava River, there are several options for crossing it. You can either walk across the bridge or take a “kompa.” You can’t actually DRIVE it because it’s a type of ferry. Rather, you simply follow the river’s current. But don’t worry; a steel rope keeps kompa connected to the mainland at all times. As a result, it’s one of the things you’ll have to try while you’re here.
If you’re looking for a relaxing vacation, either alone or with your family, Osijek might be the place for you. Of course, there will be more activities during the summer. However, you can always go see the cultural landmarks. Some of the buildings in Osijek are particularly interesting because they were purposefully left unfinished. Some of the damage they sustained during the 1990s war was left undamaged. It was painted red to make it stand out even more. These “wounded structures” are currently monument-like places to remember the tragic past of Croatia and Osijek itself.

The Most Beautiful Sunset In The World – Zadar
Zadar, like many other Croatian cities, has a long and illustrious history. According to legend, a settlement in what is now Zadar was first mentioned in writing 3.000 years ago! Its history, however, was not only rich, but also turbulent.
Zadar was involved in numerous wars and was even sacked by a crusading army during the Fourth Crusade. The strange thing is that it happened despite the fact that Zadar is a Christian city. With such a history, it’s no surprise they had a robust defense system. That system is now listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List!
But let us return to its natural splendors. Why does Zadar have the world’s most beautiful sunset, and if so, who granted that title? “Greeting to the Sun” is, infact, one of a few interesting attractions in Zadar. It’s a cutting-edge installation made up of 300 solar panels. They form a 22-meter-diameter circle that glows in the dark during the night. It is directly across the street from the Sea Organ. Yes, you read that correctly.
Because this Organ is located in the sea, when the sea waves splash it, it creates a haunting and unique piece of music. Aside from the contemporary installations, there are numerous historic monuments. And believe me when I say there are a LOT of old churches. Zadar, on the other hand, has some palaces, museums, lovely squares, and even a sphinx!
